Country mouse, city mouse..

The only thing I like about a big city is a nice fall-ish walk to lunch.

Some days

Are just better than others.

Change....

Just realized the first stage I ever played in denton is a non smoking section in a thai place now. I'm better at food than guitar anyways.

Hot Rod update.

OK, 90 percent done. Just have to sand/stain the back panel & do a few coats of poly. Maybe add some feet & a handle.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

So I decided before I dive into the Leslie cabinet I should give my Hot Rod Deluxe a facelift. The cabinet it's in now is fine aside from a few tolex tears, but it's made of MDF (as I discovered this weekend) & I wanted to put it in something a little more sturdy (as well as a add a more bass-friendly speaker, but more on that later).

Here's the basic assembly sitting next to patient zero. It's mostly solid pine, the baffles will be made of pine and/or birch plywood.

More detail of the joints & a dry fit of the speaker baffle. Lots of sanding/routing follows.

After much sanding (still a little bit to go) and with the speaker baffle/grill cloth. The grill cloth was rescued from my donor organ/organ donor.

Today, we stain.
